Directeur de publication vs Responsable de la rédaction

Discussion in 'French-English Vocabulary / Vocabulaire Français-Anglais' started by francais2english, Sep 22, 2009.

  1. Hello,
What's the difference between these two. I had "Editor" for Directeur de la publication" - in this case it is the local Mayor.
The next title is "Responsable de la rédaction" and in WR, a suggestion is Chief Editor. However this is the responsability of the first Mayoral Deputy - underneath the Mayor!
Would "Editing Responsibility" work or is there a publishing term?
    Would appreciate any help

The "Directeur de la publication" is the "Publication Director" or "Director of Publication". He has no editorial responsibilities, just legal ones. The "Responsable de la rédaction" is the Chief Editor or Editor in Chief.
