I cannot think of a proper translation for the following -for a colloquium:: 'enfermé dans sa bulle académique, son langage, ses clivages disciplinaires, etc.' It's a transaltion of Bourdieu the philosopher talking abour the Homo Academicus
    My try:
'living in an academic bubble, with its own language, its divisions between disciplines'
' disciplinary divisions ' does exist in the Collins dictionary though..
I am not even sure of 'enfermé' locked-in? locked-up?
any help would be welcome, thanks in advance

Pourrait-on dire "walled in" pour enfermé (muré)?

Instead of "academic bubble", we tend to speak in this context of an "ivory tower".

...locked in / residing in the ivory tower of academia, with its own language, its disciplinary splits / divisions / specialties ...
