I'm having trouble finding a good wording for this in an English translation. Here is the original French sentence:

Au sujet de cet acteur, ce film a été une belle opportunité pour lui donner la réplique.

    My attempt:

About that actor, this film was a beautiful opportunity to give him the counterpart.

    Thanks in advance. :)

    Do yo have more context?

Well, it's from an interview. There's nothing more to add to that comment though. If it helps, here is the sentence that follows the above:

J'ai vraiment tiré profit de cette expérience.

I really benefited from this experience.

donner la réplique is to play opposite him

so this film gave me the ideal opportunity for me to play opposite him

Thanks a lot! That was the phrase I was looking for! :)

By the way, do you think "ideal opportunity" is better for translating than the more literal "beautiful opportunity" in this context?

I don't think beautiful really works

    May be marvelous or perfect?

    "Perfect" yeah...thanks again! :)
