Earnings Bands?

    Hi there,

    I would like to know what "earnings bands" means in this context from a pensions policy document:

    "The pattern of accruing benefits under S2P is more complicated than in
    SERPS, being based on three earnings bands and three accrual rates, rather
    than one band and one accrual rate. As a result of provisions in the Pensions
    Act 2007, the earnings bands have been reduced from three to two since
    April 2010. The purpose is to progressively transform S2P into a flat rate

    En mi opinión, el término "bands", en el contexto que vos citás, se refiere a "tramos", es decir a categorías, estratos o segmentos sujetos a determinado tratamiento fiscal, de retención o de contribución.

    En este sentido, considero que lo de "earnings bands" vos lo podés decir como "tramos de ingresos".
