I don't have Italian context to go with this, but if a series of well-off Spanish tourists comes to an area of Italy, then spreads the word to well-heeled British friends, the "effetto eco" is that the British come. I'm sure I understand this title "L'Effetto Eco sulla Nobiltà Inglese." But the English equivalent isn't Echo effect, and I don't think it's boomerang either, nor copycat. What is it? Thank you!

I think the Italian isn't correct (they wanted to use the word eco without knowing how to)
    It roughly means this

    Spirito di emulazione

    How about "the grapevine effect"?

That's a good idea CPA. Thank you!
