I am having trouble finding a translation for this expression. Any suggestions? Spanish to English. It's a somewhat informal letter in which someone is explaining a legal process. I have also given my attempt at an English translation.

se inicia el procedimiento de testamentaría con demanda ante el Juzgado que corresponde por razón del domicilio del causante.

The testamentary process begins by filing a lawsuit with the corresponding court based on the address of the deceased.

Looks fine to me, but the dictionary says that decedent is used in AmEn and deceased in BrEn.
