Hi Can you help me translate this term .. . empleados de base,

    this is the context:

    I have tried this:

The workers at the service of the City Council are clasified in three classes acording to the Municipal Code: exempt, base and temporary employees.

If you can help me in any way it would be much appreciated!

    Hola Petus:

    Hi Avizor and Ayutuxte,

Thanks so much for your help!

Ayutuxte, so my sentence would be correct like this...
The workers at the service of the City Council are clasified in three classes acording to the Municipal Code: exempt, line-level and temporary employees.

    Does that sound correct?

    Hi Petus:

In order to avoid cacophony between "classified" and "classes", I´d use "categories" instead of "classes".

Finally, I agree with the translation of "empleado de confianza" into English as "exempt employee". Please, see post # 6 in this thread.

    So, I´d say:

"Workers at the service of the City Council are classified in three categories, according to the Municipal Code: exempt, line-level and temporary employees."

    Un saludo.
