Hi! I have enjoyed using WordReference for translating for a year now. However, this is my first post, so please bear with me.

I am translating report cards for the local school district. They list the State Academic Content Standards for English and Math. The student receives a grade based on how they are progressing toward each standard.

The fourth grade report card, under the heading "Mathematics - Algebra and Functions", includes the following standard:

Know/understand equals added/multiplied to equals are equal

I haven't been able to find any information on the internet. If anyone could help me understand this concept in English/translate it to Spanish, I would really appreciate it!

    ¡Mil gracias!

In order to translate this, we (I, at least) need to understand what the original means. Maybe an example would help.

    I think it means

    If P=X and Q = Y then P+Q = X+Y

    If P=X and Q = Y then P*Q = X*Y

Thank you spodulike! That makes sense.

So would this be a good translation?

Saber/entender que equivalentes sumado a/multiplicado por equivalentes son equivalentes.
