    Hello everyone,

I am translating a birth certificate from the Mexican state of Veracruz and am wondering how one would translate the word "llave" in the following sentence.

The certificate begins: En nombre del estado de Veracruz, llave y como oficial encargado del registro civil...... certifico que en el libro ..... se encuentra el acta no......

My attempt is: In the name of the state of Veracruz, _________ and as the official in charge of the civil registry...... certify that the certificate no..... is registered in the book......

How would one say "llave" in this instance.

    Thank you for your help,

Googling I have found that the name of the state of Veracruz is Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llave or abbreviated is Veracruz-Llave. I suggest you to let it as is.
