What does 'estudio de Gabinete' mean in the following sentence?

PARA CONTINUAR CON SU TRAMITE DE PROGRAMACION SE REQUIERE ESTUDIO DE GABINETE CON INTERPRETACION Y/O PATOLOGIA QUE CONFIRMEN EL DIAGNÓSTICO Y METASTASIS A GANGLIO INGUINAL DERECHO.

    Thanks in advance.

I believe that this means "laboratory study" , in other words - lab test result - in this context.

I have seen it used to refer to 'imaging studies'.

Either can be correct and would make sense, but MEWilson's does fit the context just a little bit better.
