    Ciao Ragazzi,

come tradurreste:'una persona stupida e' quella che si fa scoprire facilmente'.Io suggerirei: 'a stupid person makes himself uncovered (or caught out?)very easily';potrebbe andare bene questa versione?

Grazie e' il forum migliore al mondo:)

Would "they let themselves get caught" necessarily imply that they wanted to get caught or can it also be used to say that they did something stupid that led to their getting caught?

It can mean both, but usually implies the former. Is the same true for farsi scoprire?

Thank you, neuromatico. So if I said "that was really stupid of him -- letting himself get caught like that" it would be clear that he didn't want to get caught, wouldn't it?

Yes, "farsi scoprire/prendere/catturare" can mean both in Italian. If you want to stress someone wanted to get caught, you can say "si è fatto prendere di proposito (intentionally)"or something similar.
