    I found the following definition:

    fitotecnia
    s. f.
Estudo dos usos e aplicações dos vegetais à economia doméstica e à indústria.

So, I can understand that, but how would I translate the term "fitotecnista" into English? I'm not really sure how to translate "fitotecnia" into English, which is the root of the problem, I guess.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Use the radical phyto- and I think you'll find the words you need in English.

Well thanks for your suggestion, but I was aware of that relationship, and I am still unable to find this term. Anyone have other ideas?

Furthermore, there's also the term "phytotechnician", and I've seen that on the Internet, but it's not in the dictionary, and it's therefore impossible for me to tell what it actually is or if is the right translation. So, if you know the term and you know it's the same (or not), then please let me know.

I found phytotechnics and phytotechny. I believe if you are aiming a specific audience then the word phytotechnician might be understood.
