Good Morning, I am trying to write the following in French "this criticism didn't fall on deaf ears." My problem is whether to use avoir or etre. My attempt is "Cette critique n'est pas tombée dans l'oreille d'un sourd." I am aware that sometimes avoir can be used, is this such a case? Thank you in advance, JJ

"Cette critique n'est pas tombée dans l'oreille d'un sourd." is correct.
