If I want to write in French: "Please wear an outfit of this theme (optional)", is the French word optionel invariable, or does it change to the feminine to agree with (what word do you think it should agree with?)"

Actually, the word optional refers to the action of wearing an outfit. It doesn't refer to outfit or theme, so it doesn't have to agree with any of those words in French. We usually use the word facultatif in French.
