    Qu'est-ce que ça veut à peu près dire <<freiner à fond>>?

Il a freiné à fond/Il a freiné d'un coup sec = He slammed on the brake

    Stopped on a dime.
    Made an emergency stop.
    Stretched his seat belt.
    Stopped (dead) in his tracks.
