Is there a French equivalent for the English "Here boy!" ?

It's what you call a dog when you don't know it's name.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

In that case, I believe most people would call the dog "Médor".
    "Ici Médor!"
It seems this name is very common or supposed to be so anyway.
Please wait for more answers though.
    See you. :)

    You have the choice :)

    Ici, le chien !
    Ici, le toutou !
Ici, Médor ! (yes, you just use a dog's name, as Jierbe told you)
    Viens ici, mon gros !
    and so on ..

    No, I don't think so.
Personally, I even say "Viens ici, le chien" to my own (female) dog.

    I don't think so.

Fido sounds somewhat too English to me, no offence to you, of course!:)
