    Even though my text gives a definition for this phrase I still can't work it out:

    "A Napoli si dice che uno “ha il pepe” quando è insofferente alla mera ripetizione di se stesso."

    Is anyone else familiar with this expression and can offer me an explanation of what it means?

    "gone crazy" maybe?
    but wait for the natives for the correct translation.

    Il pepe dà sapore alle pietanze. "Avere del pepe in corpo" equivale ad essere briosi, vivaci, allegri, fantasiosi, ecc.
