    Hello,
I would like to say in Spanish, He was on vacation for 2 weeks in July. Estuvo de vacaciones por 2 semanas en julio. Estaba de vacaciones por 2 semanas en julio. Are either of these sentences correct? I want to use estuvo because it is a specific time period. Is that right?
    Thank-You

Yes, the use of the preterite is correct.

"Él estuvo de vacaciones durante dos semanas en julio" :)

How strange that no one answered this before..
