    Hello,
Is there a real difference between "hop" and "jump ? I've looked them up in dictionaries but they were both translated as "sauter"...
Would you say a horse can jump / can hop?
    How about a rabbit, a kangaroo ?
I'm a bit lost, can someone help ?
    Thanks in advance.

A horse jumps but doesn't hop. A hop is a tiny little jump where you land more or less in the same place you started. When a human hops it's usually on one foot. A kangaroo hops or jumps (in this case the one-foot rule doesn't apply). A rabbit hops or jumps.
