I guess we're talking about

    My son-in-law was talking about the death of his maternal grandfather, which he thought was when he was a small child. This is what he said:-
    "I guess we're talking about ninety-nine, something like that.'
    How would this sentence go into fluent colloquial Turkish?

    "Bahsettiğimiz yıllar muhtemelen doksan dokuz falan." might be one way to render that meaning.
