    Hi,
    Which sentence is a correct one?

    I hope to be a promising member of your team.
    I hope I will be a promising member of your team.

    I want to use it in my cover letter.

    Both are correct. In your cover letter, I think, you should use the first one. Why? Because the second one might suggest you have already been selected, which you obviously are not yet. :)

    As a sideline, I would reconsider using the word 'promising'...
