    Hi,

I would like to know, in a casual conversation, how to say "need to do". I know that I can say xxxする必要がある but it sounds too formal for me (isn't it?).

    Thanks~

I think ~しなきゃ(いけない) means "have to", kind of like, although I am not willing to do that, I have to ...

Strictly speaking, need to do something and have to do something mean roughly the same. You also have the option of ~べき, but in this case I agree with Rei. ~しないと/~しなきゃ are the best options.

After rethinking about it, I agree with you two. Thanks!
