Icelandic: Betur fór en á horfðist

    Vonandi er þetta einföld spurning: Hvað þýðir þetta: Betur fór en á horfðist...?
    Þetta var notað til að vísa til fréttargreinar sem hægt er að sjá hér.
    Ef ég ætti að giska á merkingina þá myndi ég segja: It's not as bad as it seemed (eða: It wasn't as bad as it looked).

    Það er algjör ágiskun :eek:. Hvernig mynduði þýða það?

    It wasn't as bad as it looked like it would be or it wasn't as bad as expected.

    Things went better than expected.

    This is only used when things are expected to go bad as it doesn't make sense to say this if you're expecting OK or better results and things happen to better.
