    buon giorno a tutti
Can you please tell me what ieri sabato means in English? Last Saturday? or yesterday (Saturday)?
    Grazie!

Ieri sabato sono andato al cinema.

    Possible translation:

Yesterday, i.e. Saturday, I went to the cinema

It sounds quite weird without a comma between the two words. Do you have a whole sentence?

Yes, I am translating a handwritten note from 1945. It says Ieri sabato ti aspettavano....
I thought maybe it meant the same as sabato scorso, but maybe not!
    Thank you!

Uhm, no, I agree with paolar. Ieri only means yesterday, so I believe the correct interpretation is "yesterday, saturday". A curious expression indeed, I wouldn't expect to hear it nowadays.

The note has a few other little anomalies, too. Thank you, MF and paolar, makes sense.

    cordiali salutti,
