    Hello, everybody.

    I have a question.

    It`s on Prison Break.

    <<Excessive quotation deleted.>>

DOC : You've heard of post-traumatic stress disorder, right?

    Lincoln : Yeah.

DOC : I'm gonna call you a prime candidate.

What does a candidate mean in this context? and please tell me synonyms about this word.

    Thanks.

Definition three in the dictionary here fits perfectly (for "candidate")

The most common use of candidate is when speaking of who will be elected to some office. The choices that the voters have are called candidates. To answer your question, this was the doctor's cute way of telling Lincoln that he has post-traumatic stress disorder.

Actually, "candidate" is widely used outside of the political context,e.g.
    Ph.D. candidate
    candidate for a transplant
    etc.
