Is there a synomym for "imagine" in the following context? We're talking about a hypothetical situation: "I can't imagine her carrying a Louis Vuitton bag", talking about a person who always dresses very casually (at times even a bit scruffily) and I want to give the idea that it's difficult for me to "see" that image in my mind. Is there another verb I could use? thanks a lot.

    Welcome marcyana. :)

Actually, we sometimes use the verb you suggest for this, see. This is the verb we might use when we are talking about the probability of her doing this. In the context, it may imply some doubt.

I can't see her carrying a Louis Vuitton bag.

A verb from our synonym list 'picture' also works. This would be more neutral. It simply states that it's difficult to see this in your mind, as you say.

I can't picture her carrying a Louis Vuitton bag.

You may also use: I can't conceive her using the bag.

This means that your mind cannot create an image of the event happening.
