The following sentence comes from the terms and conditions of a webpage and relates to data protection. I'm struggling to understand the sentence as a whole and therefore can't really make an attempt at it. Can anyone help? Many thanks.

XXXXX informa del carácter voluntario en la recogida de datos en los formularios y su no respuesta no conlleva consecuencia negativa alguna.

The syntax is a bit unclear, but if "XXXXX" is the subject of the verb "informa" then the idea is something like "XXXXX states [?] the voluntary nature of the collection of the data through the forms and [that?] failure to answer has no negative consequences."
