Is the above good Latin for:
it is fitting for a man to die in battle
Ah curses, I forgot to include the Latin above! Not very helpful. Sorry.
Here it is:
decet hominem exire praelio
One could quote Horace. Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori. It is sweet and fitting to die for one's country.
homo = man (human being)
vir = man (male human being)
decet virum proelio exire
DECET VIRVM PRŒLIO EXIRE
