    Greetings,

    I quote from ‘Takvim’:
İmralı mesajlarını Kandil'e iletmek üzere Kuzey Irak'a giden 6 kişilik BDP heyetinin temasları Erbil'de devam ediyor.

I had thought “Kandil” meant “Mübarek Gece”, but I don't think this is possible here.

All the best, and many thanks,

    Simon

    Hello seitt,

Yes you are right, it is not used in that sense here, it is used here as a name of a mountain.

Thank you so much - as it's a name of a mountain, how can I find out more? Is there perhaps a website in Turkish or English?

It's important to understand such things well as otherwise it's hard to make any sense of articles in Turkish newspapers.

    You are welcome.

If you search "Kandil Dağı" or "Qandil Mountain", I guess you reach lots of pages.

Ah, many thanks - indeed "Qandil Mountain" gives a much better result than "Kandil Mountain".
