    Does anyone know whether this word is used much. It isn't in my English- Spanish dictionary, but I saw it somewhere suggesting that it is a wood plane, and found the following Spanish definition:

    1. f. carp. Cepillo largo y con puño que sirve para igualar las superficies de la madera una vez cepillada.

    Esta garlopa es un(a) "plane".... Según el diccionario de WR, "cepillar" en tu definición quiere decir "to plane."

    "Garlopa" is a long plane as the one shown in Mr. Chaz's link.

    We also call this machine "garlopa de banco" or simply "garlopa".
