la gran variedad de frutas y verduras

    i understand the words but can't form them into an 'english sounding' sentence...some help would be great :) muchas gracias

    "...la gran variedad de frutas y verduras que aportó la cultura arabe a la mesa..."

    "The wide variety of fruit and veg that Arab culture has brought to our tables" sounds fine to me. (Veg = vegetables, quite a common abbreviation in BE but I'm not sure whether it sounds ok in AE too).

    Or if you want to be less picturesque, how about: "The wide variety of fruit and veg that Arab culture has contributed to our diet ..." ?

    One small correction: I should have suggested "brought" or "contributed" rather than "has brought" / "has contributed", if your text is referring to a particular point in history.
