How would this be best translated into English?

I have "The withdrawal of the senses inward"

    Thanks!

    Hola apreslacan:

    How about:
Pratyahara is the withdrawal of our senses into ourselves, detaching them from the outside world.

Hmmm. Doesn't "inward" sound better than "into ourselves?"

Not really. I'm the farthest thing from a grammar expert you can conceive, but to my ears, "into ourselves" fits better.

"Inward(s)" sounds a bit too much like "interno" instead of "hacia el interior" in this context. Plus, it doesn't allow you to explain where exactly the senses are withdrawing to (inside of what? of whom?), while "into ourselves" states it clearly.

You better wait for the experts... ;)
