    My (bad) attempt:

"Scientists were not very disposed to look at the other side of things."

Merci! :)

Le revers de la medaille = the flipside of the coin

My attempt (if a little too late):

Scientists were not willing to look at the flipside of the coin.

One possibility could be "They are now seeing the other side of the coin".

    Bonjour,

    Peut-on dire:
"The other side of the coin appeared in the 1960s when the effects of pesticides on the environment and human health became obvious." ?
