    1. Which is correct, leaving a message in my voice mail or on my voice mail?

    2. Which is correct, leaving a message in my voice mailbox or on my voice mailbix?

It seems to me in #1, ON should be used, and in #2, IN should be used.

    Thanks lot.

I don't think there is a difference between one and two. In both cases, I would use in although I have heard both.

I'd use "on" for 1 and "in" for 2.

If you're using "mailbox," "in" is the safest. For example, in "I had 12 messages __ my voicemail box," only "in" could be used.

Perhaps it does. But the fact is that people (in the US at least) talk about leaving messages "on" their voicemail all the time. (Google gives me 56,000 hits for "on my voicemail" and 954 hits for "in my voicemail"). I think the reason people do this is that voicemail is a decendant of the answering machine -- and people always used to say "on my answering machine" not "in my answering machine." Just a guess. . .
