Lettre de décharge de responsabilité

    Bonjour,

    Je recherche la traduction de "Lettre de décharge de responsabilité", document juridique. Dans le contexte d'un organisateur d'événements ou voyages qui souhaite faire signer un document aux participants lui permettant se décharger de la responsabilité de dommages, accidents, vols, etc…
    Si j’ai bien compris, une « letter of discharge » est utilisé dans le cadre de décharge d’un employé de ses responsabilités, donc ne correspondrait pas au même contexte.

    => waiv·er n.1. a. Intentional relinquishment of a right, claim, or privilege.
    b. The document that evidences such relinquishment.

    Well, a waiver is essentially a unilateral act of one person that results in the surrender of a legal right.

    On the other end, the "lettre de décharge de responsabilité" is a note by which the "organisateur" limits or excludes its own liability.

    The fact that the client signs that letter may have two meanings :
    either it is evidence that the client knows the liability exclusion or limitation
    either it is a waiver (and then the French name of that document is not appropriate)
    It depends on the content of the letter.

    Just wanted to say that there is a difference between a waiver and a non-liability note.
