liquidacion de sueldos

    hi! how can i say in english liquidacion de sueldos/impuestos and valor agregado?

    More context please "liquidación de sueldos"? What are u talking about?

    Value Added Tax, es el IVA.

    I understand the question, and I have the same doubt myself. In Spanish almost everytime we make a calculation, we call it liquidación. So, liquidación de sueldos/impuestos/IVA/intereses, etc. means every time you calculate the final amount of these items. For example, the accounting officer(s) in a company is/are in charge of the liquidación de sueldos (he calculates the final amount due to each employee). The question is if you actually say calculate (calculation)/estimate (estimation) settle (settlement), etc. of salaries, taxes, interests, loans, etc.

    Puede entenderse que liquidar equivale a pagar, el diccionario de la R.A.E. dice que liquidación es la acción y efecto de liquidar y que liquidar es: "saldar, pagar enteramente una cuenta", so desde esta perspectiva, liquidación de sueldos, impuestos y Valor añadido sería: payment of salaries, taxes and VAT ( although the VAT must be considered as a tax).
    Ahora bien, también el diccionario da otra acepción al término liquidar, cual es: "determinar en dinero el importe de una deuda" y desde esta opción yo diría: settlement of salaries, taxes and VAT.
    Es solo mi opinion.
