Me estoy volviendo viejo... :(

    Could it be "Yeast infection"?

Mal de orin es normalmente cistitis

Cystitis is an infection of the bladder, but the term is often used indiscriminately and covers a range of infections and irritations in the lower urinary system. It causes burning sensations during urination and a frequent need to urinate.

There is also something called NSU -- Non-specific Urethritis -- que significa una inflamación de la uretra, pero la causa específica no ha sido determinado.

However, if you are looking for an equivalent to "mal de orín", at the same register, then you need a coloquial expression. All I can think of is, "It burns when I pee."

Menos coloquialmente, unas otras opciones son:

    urinary/urethral pain
    o
    urethral pain and burning sensations

I once had the crabs and... ---let´s leave that story for another ocassion.

Yo diría: "My friend" suffers from burning while urinating.

Ay, sí, esas ladillas, ¡sí señor! :D

Ardor al orinar: "Burning upon urination," "urethritis" (ureteritis), o "dysuria."

I've heard "pee-burn" used, but it sounds kind of funny. "It burns when I pee" is what I'd use colloquially.
