Hello, foreros. I've been looking for a thread in which the football/soccer fault "mano" (hand) it is discussed, but I haven't found one. In this excellent dictionary, they suggest "hands", but I was wondering, which are idiomatic ways to say "¡mano del defensa!" or phrases like that?

By the way, this is the link to the Hand of God ("la mano de Dios").

    Cheers.

Do you mean what the official would call if a player touched the ball with his(her) hands? If so, we say "handball".

Hand is/was the name of the infraction in football, before the name was sold to "soccer". :)

The foul is called a hand ball, and players yell "Hands!" when the ball touches a player's arm (except the goalie's).

In BrE, also 'handball' , written as one word.
