Hi, everyone, this is not the first time I've had problems with this word as it is sometimes used in Brazil. On this occasion it relates to employee loans that are deductible from the payroll. The procedure in this case is known as a consignment loan and there are various sub-headings such as: Inclusão da Consignaçâo, Efetivação da Consignação, Manutenção da Consignação and Confirmação da Manutenção. I have managed to explain the first two items, but the 'manutençâo' leaves me completely stuck. Later on in the manual it refers to it again: 'Na Manutençâo da Consignação indica o dia do vencimento da parcela consignada.'

Does anyone have any ideas. This all comes from Pages 123 and 186 of a Febraban Manual that is on the Internet if you want to look it up. https://www.febraban.org.br/Acervo1.asp?id_texto=305&id_pagina=173&palavra= Layout

Isn't Maintenance the word you are looking for?

It seems rather strange in the context. What is the maintenance of a contract?

To keep it going (on)? To confirm it and to reiterate it?
