merci tout de même / merci quand même

    how would you translate :

    merci tout de même (or others say "merci quand même")
    it is for example when you ask someone for help. He would love to help you but he can't help because he does not have enough time now.So you all the same thank me. in French we say
    "c'est pas grave, merci quand même" = never mind, thanks anyway ???

    "tout de même" and "quand même" are synonyms. The former is almost archaic.

    That looks fine.
    In that situation, I usually say thanks all the same.

    Yes, you are absolutely right: "thanks anyway" is the correct term.
