No estoy segura de que se diga así, pero si es así creo que sería "round table". ¿nativos?

A "round table" isn't necessarily "round." If used in the historical sense or general meeting/discussion situation, it can be any shape. It speaks to a concept - many people sitting "around" a table to brainstorm. Classic case ... King Arthur and the "Knights of the Round Table." I daresay, that table probably was NOT round. :)

discussion boards sounds like the people aren't necessarily all in the same place (maybe it's by phone or internet), wheras a round table would have everyone in a room talking.

I would call it a roundtable or a roundtable discussion.

I think the concept of round table comes from the fact that all the participants in the discussion have the same status... None of them is more important than the other as far as the topic being discussed goes... A little late but worth the mention ;)
