    Hi everyone,

Do you know the difference between MINSTER and CATHEDRAL? I have gone through some documents and the only thing I have found is that nowadays MINSTER is just an honorific title given to some churches. Could you help me, please?

    Thanks a lot.

Nowadays if you say the word Minister most people will not understand that you mean a place. It is most commonly used as Preacher, or the person who gives sermons in Protestant Christian services.

The OP was asking about "minster" (now mainly a component of place names, such as Westminster), not "minister."
