Hi, WR!

    GIBBS: Where'd your husband work?
MEGAN: Work? He was an unemployed Navy husband, Agent Gibbs.
GIBBS: Thank you, Commander. Appreciate it.

GIBBS: Che lavoro faceva suo marito?
MEGAN: Lavoro?
    GIBBS: Grazie, Comandante. Molto gentile.

Hi dan - it's the counterpart of Navy wife - in this case the wife is in the Navy and the husband is unemployed.

Hi again - I wasn't sure about the translation because you had "un militare" and I didn't know if a female could be "un militare" - but I see you've changed it now. :)
