What does "lan" mean?
It's a slang interjection used a lot in speech between friends. Its meaning is somewhat close to be that comes from bre, which is also used in Balkans. Perhaps you're familiar with them:
Greek: ρε / βρε (re / vre)
Serbian and Bulgarian: Бре
Lan used to be oğulan (sons), but it's been reduced to a mere interjection used for emphasis and even punctuation in modern Turkish. Forms such as lan, len, and ulan can be encountered.
Yürü git lan! (Get the hell off!)
Lan, başlatma şimdi anandan! (Now, don't get me started with your mother, dammit!)
And it is advisable that "lan" should never be used except for in very informal stuations among close friends.
Separate names with a comma.
