    I just want to make sure I have a sentence correct
    I want to say "I need some sun and there is none here in the UK". Is it-

    Necesito el sol y no hay nada aqui en el Reino Unido?

    The query I have is about the word nada. It means 'nothing', which isn't what I want to say- but ninguno doesn't look right

    Necesito un poco de sol ...
    El problema de ninguno es que, etimológicamente, viene de "ni uno" en latín (creo que nec unus) y resulta raro aplicarlo a casos como este. Claro que "none" parece tener la misma etimología.

    yes, I think I am trying to do a direct translation which is never good :)
    Supongo que podria decir "necesito un poco de sol; aqui no lo tenemos" ?
