Hei!

Would "det er å gjøre for mye av ingenting" be a good translation for the English expression "much ado about nothing"?

I think that "å gjøre for mye av ingenting" is more general than "much ado about nothing", but I may be wrong. "Ado" is "doing something unnecessary", while "å gjøre for mye" may also mean "worrying about something", "imagining things", and so on.
Correct me if I am wrong.

I agree - it is to make a lot of fuzz and commotion about something small.
