Hi, I have a problem to translate these words in this sentence:

She always feels the urge to suppress the original urge; and usually this second reflex precedes the first.

Siempre siente la necesidad de reprimir el primer impulso y por lo general este segundo acto reflejo precede al primero.

Is it correct? I am not sure if my translation is accurate. Can anyone help me?

Actually, I think "first impulse" or "first instinct" would sound more natural in English than "original urge".
I'm not sure whether I understand the second half of the sentence. Is it saying that she would suppress her first instinct, and that the reflex to suppress the first instinct was so automatic that it actually "preceded" the first instinct? (This sounds literally impossible, but perhaps it works as a bit of literary hyperbole...)

More context would be helpful, since the kinds of impulses or reflexes involved might alter the choice of words.

Estás tratando de traducir a inglés o a español? No está claro.
