Estaría bien: He seems to have been stabbed in a lonely empty ground. Gracias.

Quizás, "it appears he was stabbed in a waste ground"...

It appears/seems he was stabbed in a waste ground.
The Collins definition of waste ground as an empty piece of land, fits the meaning of "descampado" nicely.
