This is an exclamation in a comic about characters in a Wild West setting. One of the cowboys exclaims: "Per mille speroni!"
He's expressing surprise and also annoyance.
I am really struggling to come up with any decent equivalent in English so I thought I would open it up, if anyone has any suggestions please let me know!
    Thanks.

I guess I need similar suggestions to the "per mille balene" thread but for cowboys instead of sailors/pirates... I tried to look online but couldn't find anything suitable. For now I'm going with "Spurs alive!" but I'm that happy with it.

Hi duma - how about "Snakes alive!" - also "Great snakes!"

have you searched using these terms: Old West slang, cowboy expressions, etc. - there's a bunch of websites. You may have to wade through long lists, though.

Thanks, I wonder if to keep the "speroni" part I can use "spurs alive!". I'll keep looking online for slang, etc., though no luck with anything suitable so far.

Duma - is it supposed to sound funny? angry? both? I draw on inspiration from Yosemite Sam :)
Well, I'll be hogtied and hornswoggled!
Now wait just a dad-blasted second!
    or any combination thereof ;)

It's a comic, so definitely funny, but the character is expressing surprise and annoyance that someone has showed up who shouldn't be there. Thanks for the suggestions!
