    Hi,

Are باستانی and قدیمی entirely exchangeable? In my textbook, both of them are defined as old, ancient in Chinese. What is the difference between them?

For example, may I replace باستانی with قدیمی in the following sentence ?

بان فارسی از زبانهای باستانی و دارای تاریخ دیرینه است .

    Thank you!

    Hi,

There is a little bit difference.

باستانی = belonging to a time long ago in history, especially thousands of years ago.
قدیمی = having lived or existed for many years.
